‘The Other Side of Knowing’ was recorded in rural East Clare in a small cabin during COVID lockdown from April-June 2020.

What initially began as a cathartic response to isolation was eventually shaped into an album with studio assistance from Seán Mac Erlaine. The result is a mixture of electroacoustic textures, thick drones, melancholy melodies, field recordings and experiments with feedback and voice.

Absolutely love that deep concertina sound. And the range of expression that Cormac brings out through this instrument, well beyond the intentions of the designers or makers of these instruments. And, feel sorry for his poor bellows and reeds. He has to do a lot of personal repair on them. Cormac's album design and presentation are beautiful works of art as well.
